What if we don't get to shoot?

It doesn't happen often but it does happen.
If you do not get the opportunity to harvest a goose, your Do-Over Hunt is only $50. Do-Overs must occur within 21 days of the initial hunt.

What does a hunter need to bring?

  1)   valid FOID card if you live in Illinois
  2)   current Illinois Hunting License
  3)   Illinois Migratory Waterfowl Stamp
  4)   Federal Migratory Waterfowl Stamp
  5)   HIP# (Harvest Information Program)
  6)   10, 12, 16, or 20g shotgun w/plug
  7)   a SOFT gun case
  8)   NON-TOXIC shells
  9)   brown-ish camo hat and/or facemask
10)   snacks and a drink(optional)

Do we need special camo clothing?

See 9) above. Dress warm - but
NO ORANGE!
We will hide you from the neck down -
you are responsible for the remainder.

How far will we have to walk?

You rarely have to walk more than 50 yards.
We will ferry you and your gear to the blind
in all but the most miserable of conditions.

What days do you hunt?
      
All of 'em. Holidays included. Waterfowling is the sort of mental illness that never takes a day off.

Where do we meet?

We meet for a good old-fashion country breakfast at Harner's Bakery and Restaurant in North Aurora. Good stuff, Maynard!

Where are we?

FVGS is based in Aurora.
We hunt South Central Kane County in waterfowl-rich Northeastern Illinois less than one hour west of Chicago.

What's the deal?

The cost is $150 per hunter. There are no hidden costs. Tipping of guides is permitted.
A 50% deposit is required to book your hunt date.
The remaining 50% is due that morning.

How many can hunt together in a group?

We can accomodate groups of twelve, but the State of Illinois allows only five goose hunters per blind. One of those is your guide, so we can keep groups of up to four hunters together.

Can I come by myself?

Absolutely.
